Sidstar returns from Tokyo with dubby chiptune hiphop.

Swedish chiptune artist Sidstar makes his music while travelling with his portable synthesizers. On his fourth record In Tokyo, Sidstar has reached the Shangri-La of videogame music: Japan. He is particularly inspired by Japanese vinyl culture, so called Kissaten cafés and bars. These are temples dedicated to listening and love for music. Moreover, Sidstar has hung out with mobsters on the back streets and alleys of the Kabuchiko neighborhood of Tokyo. They introduced him to Tan taka tan, which is shochu rice vodka with chiso-leaves. Not the least, Sidstar has been influenced by the sounds of Tokyo’s streel life and the rattling of Pachinko pinball machines.

Sidstar´s previous releases (In Andalucia, Costa del Dub and Will work for Churros) have been on the Juno Records as well as iTunes recommendation lists for electronic music, as well as being heavily
played by Swedish student radio. With his new EP, Sidstar follows up on his previous chiptune records, which were inspired by synth-legends and travels to different parts of Spain.
